News from the SCAS Community


Professors Steve Chenoweth and Locke Rowe have been awarded a three year grant by
the Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Programme for their project Dissecting
Natural Variation in Sexually Dimorphic Gene Expression
.
Both Chenoweth (University of Queensland) and Rowe (University of Toronto) were in
residence at the Collegium in the autumn of 2018.



Professor Christer Nordlund (Umeå University) has been elected member of the 'Class for humanities and for outstanding services to science' of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Nordlund has been a Pro Futura Fellow at SCAS, and was in residence in the spring of 2007
and the autumn of 2011. Currently he is a member of the National Board of the Collegium.


Cambridge University Press has commissioned a history of the papacy, aiming at a compre-
hensive and cross-disciplinary overview of its development and its role in shaping world
history. Professor Joëlle Rollo-Koster (University of Rhode Island) will be co-leading
the international editorial team of the four volume project.

Rollo-Koster was a Fellow in residence at SCAS in the academic year 2017-18.


An honorary doctorate will be conferred upon Professor Locke Rowe (University of
Toronto) at the Uppsala University Winter Conferment Ceremony on 25 January 2019.

Rowe was a SCAS Fellow in the autumn of 2018.
